Establishment of Laboratory Reference Values for Harare, Chitungwiza, and Mutoko

Sponsor: US National Institutes of Health (NIH)

Protocol Summary: This study sought to establish local reference values in order to enable accurate interpretation of laboratory data collected to support UZ-UCSF protocols. This was a community based, cross sectional protocol that enrolled participants from Harare, Chitungwiza, and Mutoko, which consisted of two adult sub-groups and six sub-groups for children. There were two study visits, one where all required specimens were collected and a second where test results were provided to participants. The following analytes were assessed: chemistries, hematology, immunology and other analytes including nutritional markers, cytokines, tumor markers, and neutralizing antibodies.
